Breathe ~ Relax ~ Drink Black Tea Often
A garden spider
attending her fragile nest
A clear purpose
Yellow bananas
ready to peel, slice and eat
Abundance contained
Fish in a window
hang around for eye contact
with catch of the day
A casual glance
reveals only leaf and branch
Butterfly disguise
The sun out at last
and everyone with it
Unfakeable light
Falling autumn leaves
create temporary tents
for hydrophobe ants
Amid rougher leaves
the prettiest flower grows
They all pull their weight
Delicate ferns grow
between rocks and a hard place
Nature finds her way
Hanging seeds of life
deciding when to split up
Tomorrow’s a date
This side of the road
Green, leafy, fenced and tidy
But the grass grows fast
An unknown speaker
forgotten at the ad break
The news passing by
A cicada shell
left for new season’s fashion
Colour days arrive
On the bridge of leaves
Moss spreading, spiders spinning
Kids grown, treehouse gone
There’s a tiny pool
recreating its presence
with every storm
Rain soaked plastic news
resembles a shining fish
But only far off
A snake coiled and dead
Looks at first to be sleeping
Let it rest a while
Sketching on the sky
wind hurries its brush along
Always beginning
Moon in the morning
Enjoying sunny kisses
Just hanging around
The webbing of life
Intricate, vast, incomplete
Creative spider
A dappling sunshine
after weeks of cloud and rain
Tentative light flood
My house cat munching
sounds like a wild snail on speed
One snacks and one dines
In the silences
between piano pieces
Breathe relax drink tea
Garden escapees
living large on the outside
There’s no turning back
A grasshopper’s shell
discarded on a mint leaf
Alien salad
Seeds hide their secrets
at the beginning of things
Awaiting time’s luck
A small umbrella
shelters the smallest members
of our earthly tribes
Empty shop windows
welcome election posters
Fulsome promises
Reaching for the clouds
from gardening paradise
Stem and petal stretch
Shining its colour
upon its junior siblings
Generous flower
Footpath grass rising
from every shower’s gift
No-one home to mow
Playing Where’s Wally
with colour perfect parrots
Snacking in disguise
